More Just Announced

The dudes who brought us a psycho R.V. salesman, public-access disasters, and horrifying job-training videos will be back next month with yet another pile of hysterical video-pestilence. Wisconsin's own Nick Prueher and Joe Pickett will once again bring their Found Footage Festival to the Orpheum Stage Door for two shows on Saturday, Dec. 12. For the uninitiated, the Found Footage Festival rescues all manner of trashy stuff that would otherwise be lost to the blank VHS tape of history—like this video from an '80s troupe of deaf actors and dancers—and edits it into a series of funny-in-a-deliciously-wrong-way montages. It's astonishing, and it's absolutely one of the funniest things The A.V. Club has ever encountered. The best part is that almost none of this footage begins life as comedy. Whether they're videos of dating tips, job-safety warnings, or instructions of rock vocals, these videos are all dead-earnest displays of unwitting, tacky hilarity. And hey, if you need a date, you can start looking right here:
