Just Announced Harmony Bar to mark 20th anniversary in March at the Barrymore

More Just Announced

Clearly, more people love the Harmony Bar than can reasonably fit into the Harmony Bar at any given time. The Atwood Avenue institution's one of The A.V. Club's favorite places in town to grab a beer, and also serves as a loyal venue for blues, cajun, country, and funk acts, among other roots-y sounds. (We've also seen the orange-suited piccolo man's band, Piccolissimo, jam on such tunes as "I've Been Working On The Railroad" at the Harmony, but we'll let bygones be bygones.) The Harmony will move things down the street on Sunday, March 14, celebrating its 20th anniversary with a show at the Barrymore Theatre. The lineup naturally includes many of the bands you'd expect to see at the Harmony, including The Cash Box Kings and Madison's The Midwesterners. The show will be catered by Bunky's Café (2425 Atwood Ave., 608-204-7004), and instead of a cover, there's a $5 requested donation, which goes to the Goodman Community Center.
