Kid Sister to play New Year's Eve show at Orpheum Theatre

Madison rarely seems to bother with big blowout shows from touring artists on New Year's Eve, usually making it a busy night for local bands and DJs. One exception this year: Chicago MC Kid Sister will play an all-ages NYE show at the Orpheum, and it looks like other MCs and DJs will get added to the bill in the weeks to come. This will be Kid Sister's first Madison show since the release of her album Ultraviolet, which famously got delayed several times and even re-titled before coming out this week. The A.V. Club wil have more info on this and other NYE events in mid-December; so far, we also know that the High Noon Saloon will have its usual rock-centric bash (featuring Chicago's The Dials and Madison's His & Her Vanities), and the Majestic Theatre will pair DJ Nick Nice with local cover band Hometown Sweethearts.
