Lewis Black at Overture Hall
More Just Announced
This October, the Overture Center is about to become 100 percent more acerbic, bitter, and shouty: Lewis Black has announced a show at Overture Hall on Oct. 8, taking the stage with a new routine called “In God We Rust.” In case you’ve been living underneath a comedy-blocking rock, Black is most well-known for his appearances on The Daily Show, but he’s been out on the road doing stand-up for the better part of 30 years, only recently moving up to bigger theater spaces like Overture Hall. Black hasn’t graced Madison stages in a while, but we’re an important city in his history: His first stand-up album, 1999’s The White Album, was recorded at the old Laugh Lines Comedy Club. Expect Black to talk about religion (one of his three books is called Me Of Little Faith) and other uncontroversial topics like our economy, unemployment, and whatever else pisses him off that day. Tickets are $39.50-$49.50 and go on sale July 29 at 10 a.m. online at Live Nation and Overture Center, or over the phone at 608-258-4141.
