Local songwriter Jentri Colello changes her band's name freaking AGAIN
In hindsight, it's a good thing The A.V. Club struck while the iron was hot and gave Madison singer-songwriter Jentri Colello and her band some shit for changing their name to "Flatbear" earlier this year in our A.V. Sessions video series. For lo, the puzzling moniker has gone almost as suddenly as it arrived. Colello emailed a bunch of people earlier this week to announce that her band is now called Flight, which may or may not be a good fit for the band's recently released album, Flying Days. Now, such a thing from a local band—two name changes in one year!—would usually irritate the crap out of us, but that there record is pretty good, and holds up even better in the band's live sets, so we shall indulge them for now. As Colello explains, the band's lineup has changed, and "the lineup has altered our sound a bit, and we consider this a different project." Just try to stick with it this time, folks? Colleloflat Bearflight plays a great locals-heavy bill this Saturday at The Frequency, which also includes instrumental rockers El Valiente and fellow musically mutated singer-songwriter project Icarus Himself.
