Belly Up Madison Herb Society (no, not that herb) to rejoice the virtues of mint

No related

Herbs seem innocuous, but those aromatic plants grease the wheels of ornery life. They aid us with cooking, medicine, and even hot baths. The Madison Herb Society Faire on Saturday, Nov. 5 (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) will celebrate this benevolent vegetation at Olbrich Gardens with tastings (“Cooking With Mint”), lectures (“Intro To Medicinal Herbs”), and workshops (“Growing Herbs Indoors”). The Madison Herb Society—hosting its 29th Annual Herb Faire—sprang from the minds of herb enthusiasts dedicated to maintaining Olbrich park, and today, sub-projects bloom like bee balm in high summer. Herbal foods and promulgation of herbal culture will mix in a heady brew ideal for nerdy singles looking to hook up or anyone else for that matter.

FATSOMETER: 2. This year’s featured herb is mint. Unless you’re eating it in ice cream, there’s nothing here to spook the carb-conscious.
