Maps & Atlases headlining this year's Snake On The Lake Festival
Between a pair of late-'00s EPs—Tree, Swallows, Houses and You And Me And The Mountains—Maps & Atlases moved from dizzying displays of noodly post-rock to a poppier, more playful sound. This year's Perch Patchwork finds the Chicago quartet continuing that transition, and its impulse to relax and let the songs sprawl out naturally should translate well to the laid-back atmosphere of the Memorial Union Terrace when the band headlines WSUM’s Snake On The Lake Festival on Sept. 3. Madison minimalists Flight, intellectual MC Phonetic One, and pop monsters Meteorade round out what will be a super-fun show for returning students and Terrace trolls alike.
