Mötley Crüe and Tommy Lee’s “360” vertical drum rollercoaster coming to Fort McCoy
They've still got it?
More Just Announced
Mötley Crüe’s days of copious heroin use, having backstage contests to see who can go the longest without showering and still get laid, and sodomizing young women with telephones (see the hair band’s biographical tome of epic raunch The Dirt) are probably far behind. And let’s face it, the filthy foursome of goateed Muppet-face Vince Neil, Mick “I’ve-always-been-way-too-fucking-old-for-this-shit” Mars, psychotic-junkie-gone-contemporary-pop-writer Nikki Sixx, and sexed-up doofus Tommy Lee haven’t cranked out a ripper since 1989’s Dr. Feelgood. This is probably why the Crüe has said “fuck it,” summoned Poison and a shamefully Johnny Thunder-less New York Dolls, and thrown together a fan appreciation tour, with a set list made up of Crüe songs the fans picked out on the band’s website.
Here’s hoping that Fort McCoy won’t be packed with Generation Swine enthusiasts during the band’s August 5 stop at Fort McCoy near Tomah, Wisconsin. We have to admit, the temptation to have our skulls blown off by live renditions of “Kickstart My Heart,” “Live Wire,” and “Shout At The Devil” is strong. And, oh yeah, did we mention that this tour would see the unveiling of Tommy Lee’s “360” vertical drum rollercoaster? The spectacle will, according to the press release, “feature the infamous Tommy Lee being launched into multiple vertical loops while continuing to perform.” Shit, we’d better order tickets because we all know how fucking choice it is when Lee plays drums inside of some crazy contraption.
