"On, Wisconsin!" gets a hip-hop remix at tonight's Badger basketball game
The young hip-hop artists at UW's First Wave program have caught our ears a couple of times recently, and if we didn't know better, we'd say maybe these folks think they're too cool to chant "eat shit" at Camp Randall or get sloppy at State Street Brats. Well, as of halftime at tonight's Badger men's basketball game against Michigan State, we will all know better. UW's Office Of Multicultural Initiatives announced via its blog today that some First Wavers will perform a hip-hop remix of "On, Wisconsin!" for the mid-game break. Noting that the fight song is now 100 years old, MCs Phonetic One, Rafael Casal, J Dante, and Oye posted their take on it last October, complete with verses about "rockin' red from toe to head."
