Belly Up Pound the drink of the gods at Olympic Village

The Olympic Village wine tasting on April 27 from 5-6:30 p.m. is a chance for anyone to try some new wine and an old-school Wisco meal with some experienced people: Olympic Village (1000 Hunters Trail, Sun Prairie, 608-225-6376) is a retirement community. But seniors can still get down, and the enticing combination of food, wine, and music—a time-honored trio of indulgence—at the Olympic Village “clubhouse” might end in a light mambo, or even a conga line. One thing is for sure, wine tasting is usually a good time, and those who want to stay for dinner (not necessarily part of the tasting session, so it’s advisable to call ahead and reserve seating) will dig into items from a special menu devised by Independent Living, Inc.’s Chef Susan with beef Wellington and “all the sides” as the centerpiece. Dinner is $9 per person.

FATSOMETER: 8. It would be really David Lynch-ian of it to do so, but in our mundane reality that beef Wellington isn’t going to eat itself.
