Starlight Cinema returns to the UW campus tonight
Being Fucked Up
It’s been more than a year since Starlight Cinema was (unofficially) shut down in favor of a more flexible type of programming, but it’s finally coming back tonight at the Marquee in Union South. Previously run by Reo Fordecor of former Madison art-pop band Somni, Starlight Cinema was a wild cinematic experience that pulled off such stunts as featuring L.A. public access treadmill-enthusiast John Kilduff. It’s hard to say how crazy the newest iteration of the long-running series will get, but the first night (curated by UW graduate student John Powers) features some promisingly insane-sounding “contemporary video art,” like Being Fucked Up and A Party Record Packed With Sex And Sadness (which apparently features a “Cobra Commander drawn naked”), among others. It’s free, so you might as well check it out.
