Sundance mini-fest to take place Jan. 28 in eight cities, including Madison

Having our own Sundance Cinemas outpost here in Madison should ideally feel like, you know, actually having a little taste of the Sundance Film Festival. (Only in this department do people in freaking Utah have it better than we do.) We'll get closer to that goal on Thursday, Jan. 28: While festivities are going on in Park City, Sundance will send out a program of eight festival selections (titles are TBA) to Madison for a one-night mini-fest of sorts, Sundance announced this morning. Sundance founder Robert Redford will grace local audiences with his presence—via a short introductory video, according to Screen Daily. Films for the program will be chosen after Sundance announces the festival lineup in December.
