The Fall Guys "Fitted" to kick off Local Band Wednesdays tonight
The Fall Guys in a more modest headwear moment.
DJ Pain 1's the local producer who sold a beat to Young Jeezy last year, so it's only appropriate that he and MC Starr, aka The Fall Guys, display their hip-hop savvy on a couple different fronts on their single "I'm Fitted (59/50)." On the one hand, the beat's a steamy club-grinder, with synths that match the drum machine like a flamboyant airbrushed paint job matches a set of sparkly rims. On the other hand, Starr and guest MC Mic Virus (of local rap group Lucha Libre) are rapping about the joys of fitted baseball caps—almost in the way the Cool Kids would rap about bikes or U.N.I. about sneakers, but more cocky and brash. There may be a knowing sense of humor behind lines like this: "I'm in the VIP and your baby mama's with me/ my hat game is cold, but I'm-a call it chilly..." You'll likely hear more of their confident, broad grasp of hip-hop when they kick off the Decider-sponsored Local Band Wednesdays series tonight at the Terrace, with an opening solo spin from Pain 1.
