The Lost nerds of Sonic Weapon Fence travel the space-time continuum to play the Project Lodge
Chicago’s Sonic Weapon Fence, a band dedicated entirely to Lost, is actually a fairly normal branch of the show’s fan-base by some comparisons. Since 2008, the novelty act has been singing songs about how “it’s so hard being an Other,” and why you might not want to be a rabbit in a Dharma lab. The trio will, er, crash into the Project Lodge Saturday, March 20 at 8 p.m. For those who don’t know anything about Lost, the band sounds a bit like the last few Weezer albums—completely nonsensical lyrics coated in catchy if often simple pop-rock. But fans of the show can geek out to lyrics giving nod to Sawyer’s nicknames and other Lost staples, as well as unsung heroes like Gary, who was unfortunately sucked into Oceanic 815’s turbine during the pilot. If the headliner isn’t referential enough, the opener is a similar act, The Soup Nazis, dedicated to songs about Seinfeld. Only the sponge-worthy need show up.
