The Shtetlblasters' new video provides a window into Jazzercise
In the Tomah Mackie-directed video for "Tantz Tantz Allemin" from The Shtetlblasters' Tantz Mit..., the streaky residue on a window takes on a life of its own and reflects the limber buoyancy of an unusual inspiration—Jazzercise.
"Tantz Tantz Allemin" begins as a fairly straightforward Eastern European electro-romp, triggering your heart rate with all the headband- and spandex-sporting intensity of the ’70s video series. But once night falls on State Street, the Shtetlblasters show their depth. The song lets the lower synths lurch forward while the rhythm punches along behind, flexing all the post-workout muscles. By the time the window ends up in a pile of dirt, we're all ready for a water break.
