To the delight of our Psychic Hearts (and to the irritation of sensitive eardrums), avant-rock guru and perpetual mop-top Thurston Moore will be pulling his head from the fountain of youth, riding through Madison (presumably “in the trunk of an old car”), and stopping at the High Noon Saloon on July 16. Tickets to see the outspoken titan of counterculture will be available on April 29, but on April 26 True Endeavors will offer details about a presale. The awesome news arrives hot on the heels of Moore’s recent announcement of an upcoming, Beck-produced solo record called Demolished Thoughts. Moore’s fourth proper solo album shares its name with his punk-rock side project with Dinosaur Jr. guitarist J Mascis (you know, the one that sonically battered SXSW last year) and is due out May 24 via Matador (Sonic Youth’s current home).
