Blog UPDATE: Ann Althouse’s blog is down because Blogger is down

Wisconsin liberals (or even moderates) can barely swing a picket sign without hitting something completely offensive to opposing political and social beliefs nowadays. Besides, it wouldn’t be wise to even accidentally smack someone considering that anyone in the state might be packing hidden heat. But even with the icky state of things, a quick dip in the putrid waters of Ann Althouse’s comment section never failed to inspire forehead-slapping amounts of outrage. So The A.V. Club was extremely disappointed to find that the blog was no longer up this morning.

The normal URL, which leads to her Blogger page, now simply reads, “Blog has been removed.” What prompted this? It seems strange that after seven-plus years of operating this blog, Althouse would have just now violated the terms of service to the degree where the whole thing would be taken down. It’s possible that Althouse has finally decided to go legit and purchase a domain and some server space for her insanely popular blog—but if that’s the case, why is there no redirect? Whatever the reason is for the shutdown, let’s hope she’s back at it soon, because despite how much many Madison residents might despise her conservative point-of-view and stand in awe at the vitriol spewed in her comment section, voices like Althouse and David Blaska are a vital part of the important political conversation in Wisconsin. Plus, that shit is hilarious.

UPDATE: Althouse is down because Blogger is down at the moment. Looking forward to it returning to fuel our frustration.
