Watch as Blueheels record a new song for their new album

Blueheels have a few hints floating around the Internet right now of what their next studio album might sound like, but mostly just snippets of them recording tracks like “Don’t Wake Them,” the already released “Landmines,” and one of Landon Arkins tearing off a big, fuzzed-out bassline. But this video, a full recording of new song “My Dog Is Dead” shot by Ryan Heraly at Blast House Studios, seems to be the clincher that Blueheels’ new full-length will shake whatever Americana or other country-folk labels have been following them around up to this point. It’s a wonderfully patient song that takes its time unfolding all the layers. Robby Schiller’s voice still dominates the mix with his repeated laments about “all these jerks with their advice”, but soon the flurry of guitar, organ swells, and Adam Cargin beating the shit out of his drum set catches up for the fireworks finish.
