Watch Bon Iver cover Bonnie Raitt on Jimmy Fallon
Last week, Bon Iver revealed that some pre-order packages for the band’s upcoming self-titled album would include a 12-inch vinyl version of the excellent single “Calgary,” with a version of Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” on the B-side. After last night’s performance of Raitt’s heartbreaker on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, that vinyl single has become essential. As Some Velvet Blog points out, Justin Vernon, along with some lovely piano accompaniment, leads in with a cover of Leon Russell’s “A Song For You” before breaking into “I Can’t Make You Love Me” and just a dash of Raitt’s “Nick Of Time.” Check out the video below.
