HOLIDAY SALE AT THE ONION STORE

Weekend Agenda: May 22-24

brat fest Have mercy upon us, dark lord!

The best of this weekend:

FRIDAY
Are all options useless against World's Largest Brat Fest? Tonight's heavy on the Wisconsin-made music, from the delicate sounds of The Vega Star at Café Montmartre to Felicia Alima's R&B protest against human trafficking at The Frequency. In between there's something simpler: The energetic punk of Madison's Comstock Revision, who celebrate a new EP's release at the Corral Room. We can't say we took too much note of actual touring bands for Friday night, except for the surprisingly bearable modern-rock sounds of Hurt at The Annex. And on the local-film tip, the visually stimulating short The House That Jack Built runs at the Orpheum Stage Door.

SATURDAY
The Majestic Theatre keeps warning that Peaches's show there is about to sell out; Decider will be there to capture the ridiculous spectacle, so look for a review on Monday. If fucking the pain away isn't your thing, there's the relatively low-key bill of Arizona and accordion-guerilla Pezzettino at Café Montmartre, or the Cork 'N Bottle String Band marking an annniversary at the High Noon Saloon.

SUNDAY
The end of this weekend ain't gonna be pretty, whether you choose the forbidding hardcore punk of Pyroklast at the High Noon or an interesting bill of surf and punk sounds at the Frequency.
