All About Eve at Overture Center for the Arts - The Playhouse
The new Forward Theater Company’s inaugural season begins with a one-night-only adaptation of the famed 1951 Best Picture Oscar-winner and Bette Davis vehicle All About Eve. The play revolves around its namesake, an aspiring actress who is befriended by a Broadway star. Eve first comes off as an innocent newcomer to the theater business, but soon reveals herself to be a Machiavellian conniver (read: pretty damn bitchy). The movie was originally based on a short story and radio play, and FTC will pay homage to these roots with a rebroadcast of the production on Wisconsin Public Radio’s Old Time Radio Drama program.
