American Cancer Society Benefit: The Killer Dolphin With Rabies, Poney, The Cemetery Improvement Society, Yid Vicious, Venice Gas House Trolley, The Unnecessary Gunpoint Lecture at High Noon Saloon
Whenever someone up and puts together an honestly diverse bill of Madison bands, it always ends up looking kind of insane. Here's a chance to get a head-scrambling crash course in local music while also putting some cash behind the good work of the American Cancer Society. The evening begins with Venice Gas House Trolley's jumble of jazz and spoken-word poetry and ends with math-metal pile-up The Killer Dolphin With Rabies. That'd be crazy enough, but in between are long-running local Klezmer troublemakers Yid Vicious and delightfully cracked electronic project The Cemetery Improvement Society. There's one non-Madison band on the bill, and that's Wausau metal-meets-post-punk outfit Poney.
