A Benefit For Porchlight, Inc. at High Noon Saloon
Soup And Bread has been a Chicago institution since it took over wintery Wednesday nights at The Hideout a few years back. For a small charitable donation, patrons guzzle down unlimited bowls of soup prepared by both the city’s most notable chefs and its most random soup-loving citizens. Here, the Soup And Bread idea is being implemented to help Porchlight, a beautiful organization that provides emergency shelter, food, employment services, counseling, and affordable transitional housing to those who need it. A fire at the Porchlight building on Brooks Street in January damaged many rooms, displaced some residents, and cost the center greatly. It’s appropriate that this comfort food event is happening to benefit Porchlight, which gives comfort to so many.
