Think it was tough expanding MacGruber’s one joke and kitschy wardrobe into a full-length feature? Imagine doing the same for Strange Brew, the 1983 vehicle built around SCTV breakout characters Bob and Doug McKenzie. Thankfully, Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas spared audiences 90 minutes of improvised conversations about beer and donuts, opting instead to cast their two hosers as Rosencrantz and Guildenstern in the most surreal adaptation of Hamlet in film history, and pitting them against evil brewmeister Max Von Sydow. Before the movie, the Majestic will be hosting a dance party with Nick Nice providing the tunes and complementary Bud Light Platinum, a new higher-alcohol version of Bud Light, being handed out.
