Minus some early-career Billboard chart success, Virginia-based rappers Clipse have mostly eluded the mainstream spotlight. Music bloggers and hip-hop-heads alike have been hot on the group’s trail, however, giving brothers Malice and Pusha T heavy nods for their airtight rhymes and overall sound. While the group stuck to the production skills of Pharrell Williams for its first two albums, Clipse’s 2009 release, Till The Casket Drops, features collaborations with a stable of producers like Timbaland, Scott Storch, Dame Grease, and more. But the Neptunes’ sound isn’t gone forever: The first single off the LP, “I’m Good,” is laced with Williams’ usual radio-sweet hooks and goodness.
