The Cemetery Improvement Society, Revolving Doors, Suicide TXT, and Castor And Pollux at The Frequency

After mutating into a guitars-and-samplers two-piece earlier this year to produce a roiling Petri dish of desolate electronic music entitled Lonely Dog Island, Madison's The Cemetery Improvement Society has switched things up yet again. Here, sole permanent member Marc Claggett will be showcasing songs from what he says is an in-the-works concept album with the live drums of Brad Hawes, who also plays in local instrumental trio Revolving Doors. That band hit a freaky growth spurt of its own this year on the album Songs For Car Commercials, layering more intricate keyboard and guitar work into its sound, but also finding more focus in friendly, concise melodies.
