The Dan Potacke Show Holiday Special at The Frequency
It's a safe bet that a year ago, nobody in town was thinking that Madison could really use a happy-hour comedy talk show hosted by a fictional man-child who's never been outside the Madison area—nobody except for Alan Talaga. But he turned out to be right, judging by the success his adorable, pathetic alter-ego has enjoyed with the bi-weekly serving of stand-up comedy, local "celebrity" interviews, videos, and cheesy game-show segments like the "Wheel Of Fantasticness." His Holiday Special will take on more of a "'70s-style variety hour" format. Guests this time include Shane Shane (the solo project of Screamin' Cyn Cyn And The Pons frontman Shane O'Neill), who will put a naughty queercore take on some Christmas tunes, and local comedian David Pickett will fill the show's stand-up slot, potentially with some holiday-themed material.
