Drunk Drivers, Skintones, and The Book Of Right On at The Frequency
Eau Claire's Drunk Drivers keep their case files active by constantly relapsing and being happy that way, thunking out bleary fist-pumpers that celebrate the Midwest's fuckups while making them sound pretty lovable. Like a lot of bands who've put out music on Madison's Crustacean Records, they're pretty content with a simple diet of grunge and punk sounds. But frontman Nathan Brelsford puts a lot of sympathy into it for a dude with just one greasy growl in his vocal arsenal, and the band overall is simple in a good way, keeping 2007'sModel Citizen focused on the meat of the songs with a mix of heroics and humility.
