An Evening With Gene Ween at High Noon Saloon
Ween is so genuinely, helplessly odd that it tends to squirm its way out of even the categories where other odd bands end up. What results when Gene Ween steps away from "brother," Dean, to hunker down with an acoustic guitar is anyone's guess, but it'll probably make the band's dense catalog of songs seem that much more impervious to logic. He's reportedly been mixing covers and plenty of favorites from across Ween's 20-year run of albums, the most recent of which is 2007's La Cucaracha. After all, don't lyrics about tri-color pasta and mollusks beg for some feel-good intimacy?
