Eyedea & Abilities, Dosh, The Crest, and DJ Skooly at High Noon Saloon

Rhymesayers associates Eyedea And Abilities have been making magic together since the late '90s, and made considerable headway with 2004’s well-received E&A. They took some time apart in the five years since, with Abilities moving to Milwaukee and Eyedea experimenting with rock and free jazz in other projects. They regrouped triumphantly with this year’s By The Throat, which sees Abilities scratching his way around the turntables, creating an unmatched, rock-heavy background for Eyedea’s brute-force lyrical delivery. Fellow Twin Cities resident Dosh masterminds dense, mostly instrumental tracks that relentlessly churn with jazz- and electro-informed musicianship and the kind of emotional exuberance people never expect from experimental acts. His fifth album, Tommy, comes out in April and includes contributions from Andrew Bird and many other musical friends.
