Fragile Utopia, Droids Attack, and Lords Of The Trident at High Noon Saloon
You can't mock heavy metal all that well unless you really love it, and Madison's Lords Of The Trident pit affectionate riffage and ridiculous dorkery against each other like St. George and the dragon. Frontman Fang VonKillenstein's impassioned falsetto screech is rather adorable compared to Bruce Dickinson's operatic domination, the band's first album was called Death Or Sandwich, and the bass player is a pirate named Captain Bluddbeard. But the first-pumping intensity is there, especially in guitarists Asian Metal and Killius Maximus' galloping riffs and dual-guitar harmonies. Here, the Lords will share some songs from an in-the-works new album, Chains On Fire. Headliners Fragile Utopia play here to celebrate the release of Alive, a new album of the blend of Mudvayne and Tool that won the band the approval of local modern-rock station WJJO.
