Goo Goo Dolls and The Spill Canvas at Overture Center for the Arts - Capitol Theater
After its relatively unsuccessful beginnings as a Replacements-style punk band, the Goo Goo Dolls came to prominence in the heyday of inoffensive adult-alternative rock. But it was the chart-topping “Iris” from the City Of Angels soundtrack that secured the group’s post-’90s placement in big venues and on blandly pleasant radio playlists. Finally released in August, Something For The Rest Of Us wasn’t meant to be a four-years-in-the-making affair, but the album’s release was delayed repeatedly while the band honed the material. Seems like a long time for more of the same.
