If a band wants to keep stomping, sweating, and yelling along the well-trampled garage-rock path, it might as well be able to do a few other things too. Detroit’s The Hard Lessons manage to keep a bright and fun streak alongside their swagger and blaring chords, thanks to the boy-girl harmonies of keyboardist Korin Louise Visocchi and guitarist Augie Visocchi, as well as an ear for humor and playful melodies.
