Headlights and The Scotland Yard Gospel Choir at Memorial Union Terrace
As much as the band had going for it on its 2006 debut, Kill Them With Kindness, Headlights made its songwriting both sharper and fuzzier on 2008’s Some Racing, Some Stopping, a beguiling collection of gooey boy-girl vocals, indelible ’60s sunshine melodies, and dreamy shoegaze dynamics. Starting out as a trio led by songwriters Erin Fein and Tristan Wraight, the band eventually settled into a quartet configuration with Nick Sanborn (also a member of Milwaukee’s Decibully). The group’s 2009 release, Remixes, features Headlights tracks reconfigured by The Album Leaf, Casiotone For The Painfully Alone, and others. Keep an ear out for fresh songs here, as the band's planning to release its third album, Wildlife, in October.
