Hip-Hop Awards Fundraiser at RSR Stage
A formidable local hip-hop line-up has been assembled to raise funds for the first-annual Madison Hip-Hop Awards in November. DLO is best known for being the punchier MC of local hip-hop crew Dumate, but he recently proved himself a solo tour de force with this year’s IceMantis EP, a collaboration with local beatsmith Man Mantis. The rapper’s baritone flow is best used for crushing the sugary walls of bling rap into a fine powder with his cerebral delivery. An opening set from Madison’s hip-hop cop A.N.T. should complement the realist rhymes of DLO with a dose of streetwise couplets, peppered with a rare dash of optimism.
