It seems the only constant with New Hampshire's Jeff Mitchell is that he likes to bounce around freely, making his tunes as wacky or straightforward as he pleases. The tracks on 2006's Batteries And Blankets mostly give his songs a likable, simple folk treatment, but sometimes he pours on the noise and channels his vocals through effects that distort them into a subliminal gargle.
