Jim Schwall at Crystal Corner Bar
A big, furry, friendly bear of a man like Jim Schwall would probably be noticed all over town anyway, but it helps that he’s been playing guitar locally since the ’60s and currently performs with about a half dozen bands, not to mention his solo act. But pictures of Schwall standing with a lone acoustic guitar shouldn’t discourage anyone adverse to some sleepy folk, because Schwall gleefully pounds out the blues with a full heart, honest lyrics, and a spring in his step. His sound is rounded out by lots of his favorite collaborators on last winter’s Short Stories.
