Kaki King has transformed herself from a guitar virtuoso into an indie-rock guitar virtuoso, and along the way she’s added vocals and extra instrumentation to her acrobatic compositions. That means King’s been bringing out a band when she wants to properly represent songs from 2006’s …Until We Felt Red and 2008’s Dreaming Of Revenge. And while the full-bodied take on her dreamy, moody songs leaves little to be desired, the numbers she plays alone make for an equally thrilling experience, with elaborate soundscapes built up via the tapping, slapping, and looping of her acoustic guitar, which she plays like she was born with it in her hands.
