Back To The Future is that rarest of crossbreeds: the hugely successful summer blockbuster that’s also brilliantly crafted, commendably acted, and tighter than a plutonium drum. Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) is an unwitting time traveler who disrupts his parents’ fateful meeting in 1955 and must enlist the help of Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd in the role he was born to play) to get them together and restore the space-time continuum. Amazingly, the logic gaps are bridged with ease, and dramatic ironies richly pay off.
