Lisa Lampanelli at Overture Center for the Arts - Overture Hall
Harvard-educated ex-journalist Lisa Lampanelli spent a decade pursuing the standard path of a stand-up comedian before finding her true calling: insult comic. Bouncing from one Comedy Central Roast to another—making her debut at Chevy Chase’s 2002 roast, and going on to steal the show at the roasts of Pamela Anderson, Jeff Foxworthy, and William Shatner—Lampanelli has come to earn her nickname: “The Loveable Queen Of Mean.” In her non-roast material, including the 2007 DVD Dirty Girl—No Protection and her 2009 special Long Live The Queen (her first for HBO), she’s as hard on herself as she is on her targets, and still a barrel of laughs for those who can stand a little irreverent name-calling.
