Lords Of Discipline, Breech, As Above So Below, and Black With Envy at RSR Stage
Madison's Lords Of Discipline seem way more concerned with capturing the brutal formula of '90s melodic death metal than trying to get innovative, but it’s that kind of dedication and technicality that local music could use a little more of. On the band's latest release, Forbidden Apocrypha (which will be celebrated at this show), jarring blast-beats and thrashing guitars collide under testosterone-fueled growls, while making plenty of time for lengthy guitar solos that sweep, hammer, and shred their way through the songs at breakneck speeds. While the Lords may not be breaking any new ground, it’s always thrilling to find good local metal in an area that lacks it.
