Louder Guitars And More Lemon Bars at High Noon Saloon
Some of Madison's crusty hard-rockers put on a combination benefit show and bake sale in January called "Loud Guitars And Lemon Bars" to help out a local couple suffering from cancer. The follow-up event offers yet another chance to help them out, plus a few ulterior temptations: treats, getting drunk on Sunday afternoon, and gorging on some fine, raucous local bands (the kind that'll only benefit from intoxication and sugar highs). Madison's multiple-bass-wielding noise-rockers The Suit recently morphed into The Gravity Suit, now boasting just two basses and plenty of weird, squishy keyboard sounds. TGS closes this show, following up the cheerfully kickass vintage grunge of The Arge, Knuckel Drager's surf-rock theatrics, and garage-cowpunk band The Apologists.
