Monsters Of Poetry at Project Lodge
The Monsters Of Poetry reading series puts poets in the casual confines of the Project Lodge, mostly showcasing writers younger than 40 with some connection to UW-Madison or the Iowa Writers' Workshop. This installment features a characteristic jumble of not-quite-stodgy literary types. Matt Hart, editor of Forklift, Ohio (a self-described "journal of poetry, cooking, and light industrial safety") travels here from Cincinnati, and Mark Leidner visits from Iowa, where he works on some pointed verse on and off Twitter. Emily Pettit hails from Massachusetts, where she oversees the journal Notnostrums and Factory Hollow Press. Minneapolis' Dobby Gibson has published two books of verse, 2005's Polar and 2009's Skirmish, both to considerable acclaim.
