The Mustache and Nama Rupa at Memorial Union Terrace
Madison’s Nama Rupa put in six years of work before releasing its debut Planting A Seed this year. Part of that hesitation might have come from doubting whether anyone wanted to hear three white dudes from Wisconsin play reggae music. But when the band is putting together warm vocal harmonies on “War Crimes” or letting instrumental dub do the work (“Leftover Dub”), it’s a such a welcoming tropical sound that it no longer matters.
