Natty Nation, F. Stokes, T.U.G.G., and Tropical Riddims Sound System at High Noon Saloon
Local reggae band Natty Nation recently completed its second tour of U.S. military bases in two years, playing shows for troops in Japan, Guam, and the Marshall Islands. If it seems strange for a blatantly pacifist reggae band from Madison to do such a thing, consider that all manner of artists have gone overseas to give servicemen and women a good time, including Henry Rollins and Slayer. The band's turning its second annual "day after Thanksgiving" show into a homecoming party of sorts, easing folks out of overeating-induced lethargy with its solid roots-reggae sound and frontman Jah Boogie's melodic positivity-preaching, as heard on last year's album Reincarnation.
