Maybe Brooklyn electronic pop band +/- realized the frustrations that would set in from its chosen moniker, because its music seems purposefully at odds with anything irritating. While his brother Richard gets loud with his main gig in the recently revived Versus, lead singer James Baluyut of +/- makes certain to smooth away any rough edges on songs like “Snowblind” off 2008’s Xs On Your Eyes, which all but ditches any electronic flourishes and sticks to vocals, guitar, and skittering drums. The band’s newest release is the B-sides and outtakes compilation, Pulled Punches.
