Pretty Good Dance Moves and Catch Kid at The Frequency
Chicago electronica group Pretty Good Dance Moves finds the middle ground between pop and club music, never letting technology overwhelm its melodies, but never abandoning the looped beats and synth effects either. The group released its third EP in 2010, PGDM, which featured “Leave Me Alone” with Bjorn Yttling of Peter, Bjorn And John leading the band in an immediately hummable sing-along, surrounded by sweeping synths and trinkets of cheesy keyboard riffs. The band’s first LP, LIMO, features eight movements (labeled one through eight, of course) and is intended to be listened to all at once and in order.
