The Queers, The Leftovers, and The Transgressions at The Frequency
New Hampshire band The Queers formed in 1982, when a band named The Queers would probably raise more than a few eyebrows before it even hit the stage. But, nearly 30 years later, it takes a lot more than a tongue-in-cheek name to get people up in arms. The group was always more concerned with perpetual adolescence, loading up its Ramones-like pop-punk with Beach Boys-lite vocals and goofy lyrics. On their current tour, The Queers say they're focusing specifically on their most pop-friendly tunes, complete with keyboards and "the small amps we never knew we had." They’ll commit a new set of three-chord wonders to tape in early 2010.
