Rodney Carrington at Overture Center for the Arts - Overture Hall

If Adam Sandler had decided to go country instead of making his '90s stand-up albums—oh, and been just fucking lazy in the jokes department—it might have yielded something like Rodney Carrington's career. Okay, some of the tunes on Carrington's 2009 album, El Niño Loco, ably produced by Toby Keith, work well enough in the wry, sloppy-grin traditions of country music ("Wish She Would've Left Quicker"). But in songs or stand-up bits, there's nothing to Carrington's sense of humor that America's titty-bar regulars can't already supply for themselves (case in point, songs like "Titties And Beer" and "Letter To My Penis"), or that Jeff Foxworthy hasn't already done with a tad more dignity.
