The film-within-a-film meta-commentary of director Joe Swanberg’s Silver Bullets offers viewers some indie-film meditation on relationships, which can be even more terrifying than normal horror movie fodder. Kate Lyn Sheil stars as an actress (all of the characters are unnamed) cast by her boyfriend’s best friend (Ti West) in a werewolf film, which leads her boyfriend (played by Swanberg) to cast her best friend in his next film out of apparent jealousy. If the film proves tough for viewers to unravel, Swanberg will be on hand for the screening to answer questions.
